General Math Classes

Math 6 & Pre-Algebra

This includes developing understanding of proportional relationships and their applications, operations with rational numbers and linear equations with one and two steps, solving geometric problems in two and three dimensions, and drawing inferences about populations based on samples. Quizzes will be given on a weekly basis and homework will be assigned.
Math 7

This course is designed for 7th graders. It focuses on four critical areas.
This includes developing understanding of proportional relationships and their applications, operations with rational numbers and linear equations with one and two steps, solving geometric problems in two and three dimensions, and drawing inferences about populations based on samples. Quizzes will be given on a weekly basis and homework will be assigned.
Math 7/8 Enhanced

This course is designed for 7th graders. It focuses on several critical areas. This includes developing understanding of operations with rational & irrational numbers and linear equations with one and two steps, solving geometric problems in two and three dimensions, exponents & radicals, algebraic expressions, and drawing inferences about populations based on samples. Quizzes will be given on a weekly basis and homework will be assigned.
Integrated Math I

This course is designed to help student deepen and extend their knowledge about what they learned in middle school math. Topics covered including number and quantity, algebra, functions, geometry, statistics, and probability. Quizzes will be given on a weekly basis and homework will be assigned.
Integrated Math II

This course is a continuation from Integrated Math I. The second part of the contents covered in Math I will be continued in this course. Topics covered including number and quantity, algebra, functions, geometry, statistics, and probability. Quizzes will be given on a weekly basis and homework will be assigned.
Pre-Calculus/ Integrated Math III

This is the fourth Math course in the high school Mathematics sequence.
In Pre-Calculus/Integrated Math III, students learn all types of functions including linear, polynomial, rational, logarithmic, exponential, and trigonometric. Additional topics include vectors, polar coordinates, complex numbers, sequences & series, conics, mathematical induction, statistics, trigonometry, probability, limits, and derivatives. We prepare students for their weekly quizzes and exams. Homework will be assigned, quizzes and short tests will be also given.

SAT Math 2C

Students in this course will learn the advanced Algebra and Trigonometry concepts to prepare them to take the SAT Math 2C test. They will develop advanced problem-solving skills. Throughout the course, students refine and expand their skills through practice problems, workout questions, and interactions. Students will rely on critical thinking, mathematical reasoning, and problem-solving to investigate and explore different areas of mathematics. Topics such as number theory, plane and solid geometry, algebra, probability, statistics, problem-solving, Trigonometry, counting, and sequences and series will be covered. Homework is assigned and checked. Quizzes and short tests will given.

AP Calculus AB & BC

The course will prepare students for AP-Calculus AB & BC. This course covers the major concepts of Calculus such as derivatives, integrals, and their applications. We will also cover sequences and series, areas, volumes, and polar coordinates. Throughout the course, students are required to use multiple approaches for solving problems in order to better understand the concepts that they are studying. Students use the graphing calculator to help them interpret the results of analytic solutions to problems either before or after using analytic methods. Students also learn to use the calculator to support answers and conclusions that they have developed analytically. This also helps them to better understand the solutions that they have reached by connecting analytical and graphical perspectives of the same problem. As often as possible, students are asked to justify their techniques and conclusions in writing. Homework will be assigned. Quizzes will be given on a weekly basis.

Math Olympiad Training Sessions

Math Olympiads AMC 9 & MATHCOUNTS

This rigorous course covers fractions, divisibility, algebra, number theory, geometry, logic, and a more depth study of most of the topics covered at school. It will prepare students for MATHCOUNTS. Students in 6th to 8th grades may take the test. Students in 8th grade and lower with a solid background in Mathematics may also take the test. The course is a bridge to AMC 10, the second Math Olympiads level.

Math Olympiads AMC 10

Students in this course will learn the advanced Algebra concepts and Geometry. They will develop advanced problem-solving skills.
Throughout the course, students refine and expand their skills through practice problems, workout questions, and interactions. Students will rely on critical thinking, mathematical reasoning, and problem-solving to investigate and explore different areas of mathematics. Topics such as number theory, plane and solid geometry, algebra, probability, statistics, problem solving, and sequences and series are covered. The course will not only prepare students to take the AMC 10 (American Math Contest 10), but also it will give students a chance to start preparing early for both AIME and USAMO tests. Students in 9th and 10th grades may take the AMC 10. The test is 75 minutes long, 25 multiple choice questions, and it is given twice a year in February. Those who pass the test will qualify to take the AIME test. Homework is assigned and checked. Quizzes and short tests are given.

Math Olympiads AMC 12

This course is designed to prepare students to take the AMC 12 test in February.
It is similar to AMC 10, but additional topics are covered and a knowledge of Pre-Calculus is required. We mainly focus on Functions, Complex Numbers, Trigonometry and its applications, and Solid Geometry. We also cover other topics including polynomials, logarithmic functions, problem-solving, probability, and statistics. This course teaches students the basic foundations that they require to take the AIME. The more you prepare for this course, the easier AIME gets. Those who pass the test will qualify to take the AIME test. Homework is assigned and checked on a daily basis. Quizzes and short tests are given.
